The Digital Innovation Hub Project in the Roseau South Constituency of Dominica is nearing completion, with construction work 90% complete.
The hub, managed by Dr. Jermaine Jean-Pierre, will serve as a training center, co-working space, and pitch idea venue for local and overseas investors. The project cost was 450,000 EC dollars and involved renovating the old Newtown Primary School.
The hub will offer training in digital literacy, website design, QuickBooks, and website development, among others, with a focus on helping mature individuals in the constituency learn basic digital knowledge. Minister Chekira Lockhart-Hypolite emphasized the importance of taking advantage of the training opportunities provided by the hub, which will operate from 8 am to 7 pm, accommodating both government transactions and evening training sessions.
